Life Without Barriers (LWB) is a secular, not-for-profit organisation providing care and support services across and New Zealand. LWB’s community-based programs assist children, young people, adults, families and communities. Kiandra was engaged by the Victorian Department of Sustainability & Environment (DSE) to design and develop a custom software, web-based solution to enable over 1500 volunteers to record water quality data that informs waterway managers about the health of Victoria’s waterways and helps to identify emerging issues. The innovative Waterwatch solution earned Kiandra the coveted title of Microsoft Australia Software Development Partner of the Year. Kiandra was selected out of a national field of top development houses for the market leading solution.
Appfail is a cloud service that monitors websites built on Microsoft platforms, tracking and recording details of every failure that occurs in the site’s code. It stores and analyses detailed failure data and surfaces important information to website developers and administrators. It enables developers to find, diagnose and fix the issues that matter most, as well as contact any affected users directly, to maintain customer satisfaction and minimise revenue loss. Built using the full Microsoft stack, this Azure cloud-based Software as a Service solution secured over 1000 subscriptions in its first 6 months. Appfail currently processes over 200,000 failures each day.
Victoria Police provides policing services to the Victorian community 24 hours a day, seven days a week, working to keep over 5.6 million Victorians safe. Victoria Police employs more than 15,761 people including police members, public servants, protective services officers, forensic scientists and other specialists. These people work from more than 500 locations across the state, ensuring that a safe and secure society underpins the economic, cultural and social wellbeing of Victoria. Kiandra worked with Vic Police to develop Police Bank Online, a resource management platform. Kiandra’s solution has provided a huge improvement to Police operations throughout the state, enabling Victoria Police to launch over 4000 additional days of experienced resource deployment for specific evidence-based targeted operations over the last 12 months. This is expected to double and then triple in the coming years.
Manningham Council provides in excess of 100 services to more than 116,000 residents, ratepayers, businesses and community groups, across a 114 square kilometre municipality. As council’s uptake of new technologies grows, a focus on IT security has become increasingly important to ensure it is able to carry out its responsibilities, in an efficient and effective manner. Manningham Council identified the need to take a proactive approach to security – protecting itself from emerging cyber threats, and safeguarding its organisational information from tampering and inappropriate distribution, and turned to Kiandra for help.
