Content Management Systems
By updating your web content regularly you entice visitors to come back to your site and generate higher ranking search results.
Content Management Systems (CMS) give you the freedom to change the content of websites, Intranets or any web based system yourself, without requiring IT support. Martin Cooperwaite, Director - Software Development
Kiandra can tailor a CMS solution to suit your requirements – you may want content changes viewable immediately or want them to go through an approval workflow, you may need a CMS that caters to highly structure data where only select fields are editable, or need inbuilt version control so rolling back changes is effortless, whatever your needs we can design a CMS tailored for your business.
How Kiandra delivers
For something partly 'off the shelf' we highly recommend Sitecore, Umbraco or Dot Net Nuke (DNN) based solutions. These solutions are quick to modify, are highly customisable and very easy to use. They also offer 'simple update and go' or approval based editing along with the ability to define and mange 'sub portals'. Sitecore, Umbraco and DNN are built on Microsoft SQL server and ASP.NET.
For the larger enterprise we recommend Microsoft SharePoint.
SharePoint contains powerful security (integration with your Active Directory), workflow and search features. It also offers out of the box support for wiki's, document management and content publishing from within the Office suite of tools.
If your needs require a more bespoke solution Kiandra can customise your CMS though software development.
Alternatively we can roll out our own solution, unique to your requirements.
At Kiandra we recognise that 'content is king'. So along with ensuring that you can organise and edit your content quickly and efficiently, we also ensure the less glamorous areas are covered, including:
- Having the ability to add Google (or other third party) tracking code so you can monitor traffic.
- Generating search-and-user-friendly url's. Obscure url's are no longer acceptable. For content to be discoverable and to offer the best user experience, your users should be able to guess and hack your urls.
- Optimising page loads. Content first, styles second, scripts and images last. This simple formula keeps your pages loading lightning fast while still being accessible to screen readers and mobile devices.
- Maintaining standards. We do our best to ensure all pages are XHTML and CSS standards compliant and contain relevant meta data.
Experience and certifications
Kiandra has been awarded the Microsoft Partner of the Year 2012 for our software and web development skill, design and quality. Kiandra's team has extensive experience with Umbraco, DNN (DotNetNuke) and Microsoft SharePoint. In addition, our industry certifications and experience in .NET mean we can rapidly extend these platforms and customise them to suit effectively any requirement.
On the server side we specialise in Microsoft's Windows line of Servers and the .NET platform. Leveraging this platform offers a wide range of technologies to choose from when weighing up the most suited for the task at hand.
Silverlight (or Flash) is perfect for rich, interactive screens and our design team are known for their elegant and 'clean' user interfaces which are streamlined to load as quickly as possible while still maintaining an intuitive user experience. This is aided by the use of cascading style sheets (CSS), AJAX where appropriate for automatic updating without page reloads and rigorous rounds of 'optimise, optimise, optimise'.
Our team collectively holds tertiary certificates, diplomas, degrees and masters degrees, and Microsoft MCP, MCAD, MSQL, MCSD and MCPD certifications. All have had satisfactory state and federal police checks - National Names Check and/or Police and Fingerprint Search (Australian).
