Cameron Brookes
Managing Director

With experience spanning close to two decades in the IT industry, Cameron Brookes is a co-founder and currently the Managing Director of Kiandra IT.
Cameron studied Computer Science and Communication Engineering at La Trobe University and is an active member of the CEO Institute, the Australian Institute of Company Directors, is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and was named Best Business Leader in the 2011 My Business Awards.
He has an extensive technical background acquired through solution architecture and implementation roles where he established, transitioned and oversaw national managed service and outsourced delivery operations. To this day he continues to retain a high-level technical knowledge across both software and infrastructure solutions. Cameron rounded out his experience performing business development and account management roles but is now primarily responsible for heading up the organisation, managing corporate governance, financials, compliance, culture development and the strategic direction and execution for Kiandra.
Co-founding Kiandra while still at University at 21 years of age, and successfully navigating the organisation through both the IT crash in 2000 and GFC in 2008, without downsizing are just some of the many achievements on Cameron’s rap sheet.
He has also led the organisation in designing and implementing a progressive company culture, which has been instrumental in positioning Kiandra as an employer of choice, and is routinely recognised in the renowned BRW Top 50 Best Places to Work listing. Under Cameron’s direction, Kiandra’s positive contribution to the business world has also been recognised in the 2011 Telstra Business Awards (finalist) and the 2011 ARN Awards (highly commended).
A die-hard Blues supporter, basketball, rugby, soccer and motorsport nut, Cameron is currently strategising his plan of attack to take out the 2012 Kiandra Footy Tipping.
Martin Cooperwaite
Director – Software Development

Martin’s IT story started over 30 years ago when he began writing simple programs on his father’s TRS-80 desktop computer, and then adventure games and puzzles for his 2nd grade primary school friends on the Commodore 64.
Martin’s skill and expertise have come a long way since then, co-founding the successful software development and managed services organisation Kiandra IT while still studying at University, over 16 years ago.
In his role as the Director of Software Development, Martin is responsible for overseeing the largest department in Kiandra – a team that produces ground-breaking software solutions for high profile Government departments and blue chip corporates such as Victoria Police, the Department of Sustainability and Environment, Emergency Services, Fosters Group and Mercer Australia.
Martin’s drive and passion for custom software has been instrumental in developing Kiandra’s reputation as one of Australia’s top custom software development houses. Testament to Martin’s leadership and the innovative solutions Kiandra delivers, Kiandra was awarded Microsoft Worldwide Partner of the Year for Software Development in 2009 and Software Application Partner of the Year finalist in the Microsoft Australian Partner Awards in 2010, and was named as the winner in 2011.
Martin has a Bachelor of Computer Science degree and has attained numerous industry certifications along his journey. A true geek at heart (and proud of it), when Martin isn’t busy running a cutting edge software development division, he has a passion for computer hardware overclocking, playing guitar, flying model aircraft and is a bandit for great coffee and wine.

Leveraging the skills and expertise gained from these roles, Chris uncovered a deep entrepreneurial flair and began honing his business and management skills, running a successful desktop publishing and graphic design business.
Chris studied Computer Science at La Trobe University and also lectured in the topic at Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE, where his greatest satisfaction came from seeing his students succeed and flourish in the professional world. Chris hasn’t changed since then and still measures his success on the success of his clients, always striving to go the extra mile to give them an edge.
Chris is fascinated by travel and looks forward to the day where he can do more, sans mobile and laptop!
