South-Eastern Office Supplies - Website and online store solution
Launched in May 2007, South-Eastern Office Supplies (SEOS) engaged Kiandra to build a new CMS based website and online store solution. Utilising the latest in online technology, the new SEOS store is targeted to be the best office supplies online store in the industry.
All website content is completely editable by SEOS via a custom built content management system. When users navigate to the online store, they can either log in or request an account. Kiandra utilise full SSL security to protect passwords, and have implemented quick tools to enable a fast login for users when they return to SEOS.
The top and left hand side of the display incorporate web-standard sized advertising banners, using a custom built advertising engine to control ad placement. In addition, a “Live Help” system is incorporated to give customers the ability to chat real-time with SEOS support staff. Any questions that a customer may have are instantly answered. Once logged in, the site presents a fully dynamic, data driven menu on the left with summary information. The information in this menu is generated automatically and securely, based on South-Eastern’s internal ERP systems and ensures the information on the website is always current and up to date.
Kiandra have built a “save always” feature into the site, so no matter where you go or what you do, the site remembers it for next time you log in. The internal searching system is highly optimised and utilises full-text indexing for keyword searching. Search results are categorised at the top of the search results, with the various classifications of products also presented in an intuitive bread-crumb style – enabling the user to navigate any ‘depth’ within the search.
The paged search results fully utilise AJAX technology to enable fast navigation and adding to the cart. Products can be quickly and easily added one after another, and a full detail view of the product is only a single click away.
The product detail page is clear and allows for a significant volume of information if required. Items can be quickly added to the cart from this page, or added to any number of unlimited “Hotlists” that allow orders to be instantly processed later.
Although there are a number of “off the shelf” e-commerce products available, the utilisation of a fully tailored solution has enabled the SEOS webstore to look and function exactly how SEOS require, without any limitations. This includes full screen design ‘skinning’, secure interfacing with existing systems, order authorisation work-flow management and powerful reporting.
