ANZPAA - Outsourced IT start-up, support and maintenance services
The Australia New Zealand Policing Advisory Agency (ANZPAA) provides policing policy and strategic advice, research capacity, knowledge management and information sharing services to Police Ministers and Commissioners throughout the Australian Commonwealth, its States and Territories, and New Zealand. Its mission is to research, develop, promote and share strategic policing initiatives to enhance community safety in Australia and New Zealand.
The Challenge
In June 2006 the then Australasian Police Ministers' Council approved the creation of a new organisation to harness the cross-jurisdictional strengths of the various ANZ agencies, and thus ANZPAA was born! ANZPAA required the implementation and ongoing support and maintenance of its technology environment; reliability, data security and scalability being key factors in the design and delivery of the infrastructure.
The Solution
Kiandra implemented a best practice HP BladeSystem solution and Cisco Catalyst gigabit Ethernet switches to provide a solid infrastructure platform upon which forms ANZPAA's technology environment. Four powerful c-Class blade servers running Windows Server 2003 R2 along with two storage blades were configured in a HP BladeSystem c3000 enclosure and are protected by Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery Server to ensure optimisation of disaster recovery operations, providing a high level of protection for ANZPAA, its operations and its data. A tailored services agreement with Kiandra means that ANZPAA's infrastructure is proactively monitored and maintained with support delivered under a responsive Service Level Agreement.
